Veteran goalkeeper and two-time NWSL Champion Abby Smith joined Denver Summit FC ahead of the club’s inaugural 2026 season, bringing nearly a decade of professional experience and a strong record of leadership in goal. Smith signed a multi-year contract through 2027, with a mutual option for 2028, and arrives as a key foundational piece for Denver’s first NWSL roster.

Smith began her professional career in 2016 and has played for several NWSL clubs, including the Boston Breakers, Utah Royals, Kansas City Current, Portland Thorns, Gotham FC, and Houston Dash, as well as Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia’s A-League Women. Across more than 75 career appearances, she has recorded 14 clean sheets, earned multiple Save of the Week honors, and contributed to five trophy-winning campaigns, including NWSL Championships with Portland in 2022 and Gotham in 2023.

A standout at the University of Texas, Smith set the program record with 30 career shutouts, earned multiple All-Big 12 First Team selections, and made history by scoring three goals as a goalkeeper. Internationally, she has represented the United States at the U-17, U-20, and U-23 levels and earned senior national team call-ups in 2017 and 2018.
