About Denver Summit FC

The NWSL has announced it has awarded Denver, Colorado the league’s 16th franchise. Denver Summit FC, set to begin play in the 2026 season, is comprised of a robust ownership group that includes local and national investors.

Denver Summit FC is still finalizing plans for a purpose-built stadium for professional women’s soccer and a dedicated performance facility. More information will be available as these plans are finalized.

Denver Summit FC has unveiled its name, crest, colors, and brand. The Denver Summit name was selected after receiving the most first-place votes in the Name The Club fan vote, which generated over 15,000 votes and suggestions.

Meet the Founders

Rob Cohen

Rob Cohen is the Chairman and CEO of IMA Financial Group, Inc., a top 25 North American insurance brokerage specializing in risk management, insurance, wholesale brokerage and wealth management headquartered in Denver, Colorado. During his tenure, Cohen has led the firm to unprecedented growth while staying true to its client-focused culture built on the foundation of employee ownership. IMA has consistently been named a best place to work by various national and local publications and since 2020, the company quintupled its revenue and grew its employees from 600 to 2,700 through both organic and inorganic growth.

Community involvement is at the heart of both IMA and Cohen’s personal life, evident through IMA’s vision, established by Cohen, which is to protect assets and make a difference for clients and associates within the communities IMA operates. The IMA Foundation, IMA's charitable arm, has raised millions to support critical youth-focused causes in education, mental health, arts and culture, and the challenges of food insecurity and homelessness. Outside of IMA, Cohen has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including the Colorado Dream Foundation, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Denver Partnership, and Visit Denver.

As Cohen built IMA into a national insurance brokerage, he was also among the business leaders elevating Denver’s sports scene to the international stage. In 2001, Cohen founded the Denver Sports Commission, whose mission is to proactively identify, pursue, and attract regional, national, and international amateur and professional athletic competitions and events to Denver. The commission has helped bring such notable events such as the All-Star Games of MLB, NBA, NHL, Women’s Final Four, and Hockey Frozen Four to the greater Denver area.

Cohen served as a founding member of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Foundation (USOPF) and is the Chair of the Games Hospitality Committee. He most recently was on the Salt Lake City Bid committee, which was awarded the Winter Olympic Games for 2034. He has served on the board for the United States Olympic Museum and has attended 15 different Olympic Games in his lifetime.

In 2020, Cohen was appointed to the Commission on the State of U.S. Olympic and Paralympics by U.S. Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Wicker as part of the Empowering Olympic, Paralympic and Amateur Athletes Act, which concluded with the publication of recommendations for Congress called: Passing the Torch – Modernizing Olympic, Paralympic, & Grassroots Sports in America – The Final Report of the Commission on the State of U.S. Olympics & Paralympics. 

Cohen has mentored and supported countless student-athletes at MSU Denver through the Molly and Rob Cohen Athletic Pacesetter Scholarship Program. You can often find him in the stands at various sporting events throughout Colorado.

A Kansas native, Cohen holds bachelor's degrees in Risk Management and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. His professional affiliations include membership in organizations such as the World Presidents’ Organization and the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB).

Throughout his career, Cohen has received many accolades, including the "Most Admired CEO Award,” induction into Hall of Fames for Insurance Business America and Visit Denver, and was the recipient of the first-ever Diversity, Equity & Inclusion award from the Denver Business Journal.

Cohen lives in Denver with his wife, Molly, where they raised their four children, Jake, Cooper, Kaley and Jonah, all of whom have found their own success in different industries, including insurance, tech, and sports and entertainment.

Project Level / Mellody Hobson

Alternate Governor Mellody Hobson is Co-CEO & President of Ariel Investments, LLC (“Ariel”), the first and oldest African-American-owned mutual fund company in the United States. Ariel is the parent company of Project Level, which is investing in Denver Summit FC. Led by Hobson and former Washington Commanders President Jason Wright, Project Level’s mission is to ‘level’ the playing field in women’s sports through investment and ownership. In 2022, Hobson made history as one of the first Black owners in the National Football League, as part of the Denver Broncos’ Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group. She is also a shareholder of the Chicago White Sox, the Women’s National Basketball Association, and League One Volleyball. In 2021, she co-founded Ariel’s first private equity firm Ariel Alternatives, LLC – with inaugural $1.45 billion fund Project Black, which scales sustainable minority-owned businesses to fuel Fortune 500 supply chain diversity. Outside of Ariel, Mellody is a leader in corporate boardrooms, as former chairman and current lead director of Starbucks Corporation and a director of JPMorgan Chase.

The Borgen/Moritz Families

Working closely with Rob Cohen and in alignment with the team at For Denver FC on the nearly two-year journey, siblings and founders Jon-Erik Borgen and Kaia Borgen Moritz were key contributors in the early movement and eventual bid to bring an NWSL team to Denver.  Together, with their spouses, Brooke Borgen and Misha Moritz, and the recent addition of sister Randi, the Borgen family has a distinguished legacy of financial, athletic, and philanthropic impact and success in Colorado. This community-focused investment through their FirstTracks Sports Ventures, LLC represents their passion for women’s athletics, elevating opportunities for all, and their commitment to bringing the first professional women’s soccer team to Denver.

Jon-Erik Borgen (BA Middlebury College, MBA University of Denver) is President and CEO of Borgen Investment Group, a Denver-based single-family asset management firm, focused on public equities and direct investments. He also serves as Principal of FirstTracks Ventures, a direct investment fund focused on seed and growth stage companies in Colorado and beyond.  Jon-Erik serves on several community and nonprofit boards in the Rocky Mountain and Denver Metro regions.

Kaia Borgen Moritz (BA Dartmouth College, MBA/Finance University of Denver) has extensive experience in the private and nonprofit sectors. Kaia’s professional experience includes finance roles at Arthur Andersen, Founders Asset Management, and Borgen Investment Group. Kaia currently serves as board chair of Ski and Snowboard Club Vail and is a director on the Vail Valley Foundation board. Kaia ski raced and played rugby at Dartmouth.

Randi Borgen (BA Middlebury College) is a passionate sports enthusiast, forged by her playing and coaching careers at the high school and collegiate levels.  Randi has dedicated more than 20 years to nonprofit and community-based efforts in the Eagle Valley, currently serving as a board member of The Cycle Effect and a champion for its girls’ mountain bike and mentorship program.

Neelima Joshi & Dhiren Jhaveri

Neelima Joshi is a Colorado native, seasoned finance professional, and leader with experience in corporate finance, community leadership, and non-profit board governance. Neelima has dedicated her time and expertise to high-impact boards where she champions efforts to make tangible differences in the community. Currently, Neelima serves on the Board of Directors of the Food Bank of the Rockies – a position where she works to combat food insecurity across Colorado and Wyoming. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Biennial of the Americas, an organization which was established by the Colorado Governor’s office to promote cultural exchange, innovation, and collaboration throughout the Americas. In addition to these roles, Neelima previously served on the Denver County Cultural Council and Council Executive Committee, a city council appointed position which promotes and supports arts, cultural, and scientific programs within Denver County. Neelima earned a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Dhiren Jhaveri is the Founder, Chairperson and CEO of Kuvare, a global technology-enabled financial services platform with ~$46B in assets that provides insurance, reinsurance, & asset management solutions. Additionally, Kuvare has a strong commitment to community enhancement, infrastructure development, and sports-related investments. Before founding Kuvare, Dhiren was a member of the executive committee of Sammons Financial Group, where he led corporate development and investments. Previously, he worked at McKinsey & Co. and Barclays. He is on the board of The Neo-Futurists, a Chicago based experimental theater group and is actively involved on various committees for the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI). Dhiren earned a Bachelor of Arts from State University of New York at Binghamton, an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and is a designee of the LIMRA Life Insurance Fellows (LLIF).

In addition to building their business and community commitments, Neelima and Dhiren are one of the first South Asian owners in the National Basketball Association and Women’s National Basketball Association as part of the ownership group of the Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA), Lynx (WBNA), and Iowa Wolves (NBA G League). They live with their family in Colorado.

Molly Coors

Molly Coors is a fifth generation Coloradan native. Her Colorado roots and love of sports have shaped the person she is today. Molly played varsity collegiate level lacrosse at Connecticut College. The team construct, friendships made, and lessons learned both on and off the field played an integral role in her career.

Molly worked in the US (in their New York, Chicago, and Denver offices) and abroad (in Sydney, Australia) for AllianceBernstein (AB) for 14 years from 2008 to 2022, working in various roles in their Institutional Investments group and most recently as a Director on their Global Consultant Relations team. She graduated with Dean’s list honors from Connecticut College majoring in Government. She pursued an interdisciplinary thesis her senior year through the Holleran Center’s Certificate Program in Community Action and Public Policy (PICA) which culminated in an internship and later first job out of college with CBS Sports in New York City. 

Molly serves on the Young Guns Committee for the National Western Stock Show, volunteers at her children’s school and is involved in other community organizations.  

Molly and her husband, David, live in Denver, Colorado where they are raising their 4 children (ages 3 to 9) and enjoy soccer, lacrosse, golf, tennis, hockey and especially time in the mountains together skiing in the winter and hiking and other mountain adventures in the summer. 

Mikaela Shiffrin

With 101 World Cup victories, Mikaela Shiffrin has the most wins of any alpine skier in history (men or women). The greatest alpine skier of all time, she is a two-time Olympic Champion, eight-time World Champion, and five-time Overall World Cup champion. The winningest ski racer of all time and the only athlete to win in all six disciplines, Mikaela has elevated women's ski racing globally—both on and off the mountain. A role model for young athletes across the world who has transcended the sport of alpine ski racing, she was named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in 2023 as well as the ESPY Best Athlete in Women's Sports in 2023. 

Off the snow, Mikaela is passionate in her support of philanthropic endeavors and has ties to the Kelly Bush Foundation, Share Winter Foundation, and more. Additionally, Mikaela and her family, in partnership with US Ski & Snowboard, launched the Jeff Shiffrin Athlete Resiliency Fund in honor of her late father Jeff. The fund has raised over 3.7 million dollars and helps cover expenses for athletes outside of team funding and ultimately allows the athletes to focus on their sporting journey. Mikaela also is a mental health and climate change advocate, having worked with Protect our Winters (POW). 

In celebration of her milestone 100th World Cup victory, Mikaela Shiffrin announced her ambassadorship with Share Winter Foundation and a MIK100 campaign goal to raise $100,000 for learn to ski and snowboard programs for youth who otherwise would not have access to these sports. To date, Mikaela has successfully raised nearly $500,000 for Share Winter Foundation through the MIK100 campaign.

Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning, the NFL’s only five-time Most Valuable Player and a 14-time Pro Bowl selection, has earned his place among the greatest quarterbacks in league history.  A first-ballot Hall of Fame selection, Manning was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2021.

Following his retirement from the NFL, Manning founded Omaha Productions, an entertainment company focused on developing content that unifies and uplifts people and communities. Omaha Productions executive produces ESPN’s Emmy award-winning Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli along with alternative telecasts for college football, golf, the NBA, F1, and the UFC. The company executive produced Netflix’s Quarterback, Receiver, & Starting 5, while producing Full Court Press, Razor’s Edge, King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch, HULU's It's All Country, and ESPN+’s PLACES franchise, among others. Omaha Productions scripted division develops projects across streaming and broadcast, and the Omaha Audio Network provides award-winning sports talk shows in partnership with ESPN. Omaha’s Creative Agency has produced award-winning campaigns and content for a roster of over 30 brands. Omaha has also teamed up with the NFL to reimagine the Pro Bowl and launch the inaugural NFL FLAG Championships, a youth flag football tournament airing on ESPN.

The Soin Family Led by Vishal Soin

Raj Soin and Vishal Soin represent two generations of entrepreneurial leadership and philanthropic commitment of the Soin Family.

Raj Soin is a pioneering entrepreneur whose career spans over five decades of executive leadership, business innovation, and strategic investment. As Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Soin LLC, he leads a diverse portfolio of enterprises and equity investments. Raj began his journey in the U.S. as a young graduate student with limited means and went on to build Modern Technologies Corporation (MTC), a Department of Defense contractor that grew into a $500M publicly traded company. His ventures have since expanded to include global firms in aerospace, IT, plastics manufacturing, private equity, and real estate.

Beyond business, Raj is a dedicated philanthropist, with transformative contributions in education and healthcare in both the United States and India. From funding the Indu and Raj Soin Medical Center in Ohio to supporting pediatric care and early childhood education, Raj believes in giving back to the community. His leadership has earned numerous accolades including the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and induction into the Dayton Business Hall of Fame. Raj continues to serve on several corporate and nonprofit boards, fostering a legacy of purpose-driven leadership.

Vishal Soin is the President of Varis Holdings, where he oversees a single-family office managing a wide array of investments. A seasoned executive with experience across multiple industries, Vishal also serves as Chairman of Corbus LLC and CTC Plastics.

In addition to his professional achievements, Vishal is deeply committed to civic leadership. He has served as Chair of both Dayton Children’s Hospital and Wright State University’s Board of Trustees, among numerous other community and economic development boards. Vishal brings a thoughtful, long-term perspective to business and philanthropy. 

Vishal lives in Beavercreek, Ohio, with his wife and three children. As an avid sports family, all members passionately follow, play and prioritize sports and outdoors in their lives.

Additionally, Vishal is an avid pilot and holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate.

Brooke Woody

Brooke Woody started her career in the financial services industry in North Carolina after graduating from Wake Forest University. She is passionate about supporting women's sports and entered the women's sports arena with a minority ownership stake in the NC Courage. She and her husband John are dedicated to investing in organizations that lift up women and build up communities. Brooke is an active volunteer and works with several local community non-profits. She recently served on the board of the Community Impact Fund, she is a director of a local foundation, and she volunteers at a community food bank. Brooke and John live in Colorado with their two children, who have been actively involved with local soccer programs.  They enjoy hiking, spending time in the mountains, and cheering for each other at numerous sporting events.

For Denver FC Capital Partners (SPV)

Founded in 2022 by Ben Hubbard, Tom Dunmore, Jordan Angeli and Nicole Glaros, For Denver FC launched the movement that ultimately brought professional women's soccer to Colorado. For Denver FC's work was instrumental in the early stages of Denver’s pursuit of an NWSL franchise, helping lay the foundations for Denver's successful bid by generating deep grassroots enthusiasm, exploring infrastructure solutions, and engaging Rob Cohen and other key members of the ownership group. In early 2025, Hubbard, Dunmore, Angeli, and Glaros were joined by Stacy Carter to form ForDenverFC Capital Partners, which includes Yoav Lurie and Lana Kimayeva, Jodi Asarch, Sebastian Somen, Thomas and Carrie Hutchinson, and others.

Meet the Leadership

Jen Millet

Denver Summit President

Jen Millet is the President of Denver Summit FC, Denver’s only professional women’s sports organization and the 16th club in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Millet works directly with the Denver Summit ownership group and oversees all of the club’s business operations including partnership, ticketing, marketing, and venue operations.

Prior to joining Denver Summit FC, Millet was the Chief Operating Officer for Bay FC. Millet managed the club’s day-to-day operations for Bay FC including partnership, ticketing, marketing, and venue operations. 

Millet’s extensive background in sports, consumer products, and live events brings a deep level of expertise to the team. She previously served as Chief Marketing Officer for the National Basketball Association’s Golden State Warriors, where she led all aspects of marketing for both the Warriors and Chase Center. 

Prior to her time with the Warriors, she served as Vice President of Consumer Marketing for Pandora, where she successfully led a brand redesign and launched several new product lines. She also held marketing leadership roles at Rdio, StubHub, and Live Nation. Millet, a Denver, Colo. product is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Curt Johnson

Denver Summit General Manager

Curt Johnson was named the first General Manager in Denver Summit FC history in May 2025, bringing with him more than 25 years of executive experience across all levels of U.S. professional soccer, including NWSL, MLS, USL, and NASL. Widely respected as a collaborative and visionary leader, Johnson has a proven track record of building successful clubs on and off the pitch.

Prior to joining Denver Summit FC, Johnson served as Chief Soccer Officer and General Manager of the North Carolina Courage (2017–2024) and North Carolina FC (2011–2024), where he oversaw both business and soccer operations. Under his leadership, the Courage won seven major trophies, including two NWSL Championships and three NWSL Shields, and became a model of sustained success in the league. He also led Sporting Kansas City to the 2000 MLS Cup and helped grow multiple clubs into investment-worthy franchises.

Throughout his career, Johnson has built organizations from the ground up, hired and mentored world-class coaches and players, and prioritized creating inclusive and high-performance environments. He is known for his strategic expertise in areas ranging from roster building and salary cap management to marketing, community engagement, and long-term business planning.

A North Carolina State graduate and former collegiate player and captain, Johnson has served on the Board of Governors for both NWSL and USL. He is a member of the North Carolina Soccer Hall of Fame and holds a U.S. Soccer coaching license and FIFA Futuro certification.

At Denver Summit FC, Johnson leads all soccer operations and plays a central role in shaping the club’s culture and future.
